    Welsh Labour conference well timed

The Welsh Labour conference was of course dominated by rugby references. Rhodri and Peter gave the PM a Welsh rugby shirt as he arrived at the conference. The BBC online website has a fair summary of the key speeches by Rhodri , Peter, and the PM.

We also had a lot of fun with the footage of John Redwood pretending to sing Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau, which conference enjoyed. I spoke in the Culture, Sport and Welsh language debate, which allowed me to raise the issue of fans having more say over the running of their clubs.

It was a thoroughly successful conference.

Couldn’t you just feel the hairs on your back rising as the Prime Minister walked on to the stage to “A beautiful day”?
