    Crossroads

I attended Crossroads' coffee morning in Pontygwaith Community Centre last week to talk about the challenges facing carers and to meet with Crossroads staff.

Crossroads is an important organisation which understands that being a carer can have an enormous impact on people's lives. Looking after someone can be rewarding, but also stressful and costly. Many carers lose their career, social life and suffer ill health as a result.

Supporting carers is essential and carers themselves say a break from their caring responsibilities is vital and can help them to continue. Crossroads provides that break - by giving carers time to be themselves.

Crossroads has thirty years experience of working with carers including young carers and their families. Their holistic approach to family support ensures they have the ability to work with a wide range of conditions and illnesses.
