Welsh Tories issue apology

I have received a complete apology from Paul Morris, Chief of Staff to Welsh Conservative Leader Nick Bourne, for the ridiculous statements made about me on Monday.

I reproduce the letter below:

Dear Mr Andrews

Further to previous correspondence I have no hesitation in accepting that you personally were not responsible for the claim that David Anstee was one of the authors of the Welsh Conservative manifesto.

I sincerely apologise for the assertion that this was the case and accept that there are no grounds for a reference to the Commissioner for Standards in this regard.

I withdraw any such claims and will refrain from repeating them.

I regret any inconvenience that you have been caused.
