Left must engage with Iraq post-election

Good article by Brian Brivati (Gaitskell biographer) in the Guardian arguing that the left should not leave the rebuilding of Iraq to the neo-cons.

I also meant to blog the Washington Post article the other day which pointed out that a significant number of women had been elected to the Iraqui National Assembly. At 31%, not as high a proportion as the National Assembly for Wales (50%) but higher I think than at Westminster!
