    RCT Housing Policy

There was an excellent letter in the Western Mail this week, exposing the hypocrisy of Plaid Cymru's current campaign against RCT plans for the future of the Council's housing stock.

The letter, from Professor Kevin Morgan and Dr Bob Smith of Cardiff University's Regeneration Institute, points out:

As regards the facts, it is simply not true that RCT proposes to transfer its council houses to a private housing company.

On the contrary. The council proposes to use the Community Housing Mutual model pioneered by the Welsh Assembly Government, a model which is largely tenant-centred.

The letter also raises the question of political integrity because, in its essentials, this is the same model that Plaid Cymru was trying to develop when it controlled RCT.

Absolutely right. Plaid's campaign is the usual dishonest opportunism.
