    Arriva MD leaves

Shock news yesterday that the MD of Arriva Trains in Wales, Graeme Bunker, has left his job, by 'mutual consent' according to the Echo. I have had cause to complain about Arriva regularly over the last six months, but on a personal basis I always found Mr Bunker straightforward, honest and cooperative. The news was given to a breakfast briefing at the Assembly attended by some of my colleagues, and the Echo was on the phone about it by 10.00.

I hope that the new MD will be present on Friday when the South Wales Central Regional Committee, which I have to chair for the next year, meets in Cwmaman to discuss commuter train services.
