    Our Mining History

Old Ordnance survey maps of the Rhondda contain a lot of fascinating material. I have a number of the six-inch maps from around 1900 which clearly show the pits throughout the valley. Now there are calls to make the Ordnance Survey mark the site of former pits on maps of coalmining areas throughout Britain. It's a good and simple idea that should be supported.
