    Rhondda Diabetes

A dozen diabetics from the Rhondda Diabetic Group joined the Diabetes UK lobby at the National Assembly the other day .

They impressed upon me the importance of diabetes education, including in schools. I gave the group a tour of the new Assembly Building.

'Diabetes affects a growing number of people in Wales. We are fortunate in the Rhondda to have the excellent DARES service at the Llwynypia Hospital. We also have an excellent and well-organised group of diabetes campaigners in the Rhondda whom I have now met on several occasions.
