    Rorke's Drift

    Ferndale is proud of its link with Stanley Baker, and today at the Ferndale Festival in the beautiful Darran Park, the 1879 Group appeared to give a demonstration:

    The 1879 Group was formed at the South Wales Borderer's Museum in Brecon in 1998 by a small but dedicated group of people who had a consuming interest in the Anglo - Zulu War of 1879, many inspired, it must be said, thanks to Stanley Baker's film, Zulu, made in 1963.

    Earlier this year the Ferndale Rugby Club opened its excellent Stanley Baker Lounge which is a good place to watch Wales's away rugby internationals!
