    Ten Years On (3)

Ten years ago this week, the Yes for Wales campaign had just re-started after the week-long hiatus following the tragic death of Princess Diana. Ten years ago tomorrow - the 11th September - Scotland voted yes twice. The next day, Gordon Brown arrived in Cardiff to be greeted at Cardiff station by a congratulations card from Yes for Wales with the theme 'Scotland voted yes - don't let Wales get left behind'.

Ten years ago today, the Guardian published a poll suggesting the result would be closer than we expected. (The Guardian archive has the wrong date on the article).

The Guardian was right. All the other polls were wrong.
