    Ysgol Hen Felin training centre

    Education Minister Jane Hutt opened the new training centre at Ysgol Hen Felin in Ystrad last week. The school has identified a gap in the market for training teaching assistants and along with training company ACT has been putting on courses to fill that gap. So successful have they been that they have now had to take on additional premises. The success fo the school under its headteacher, Andy Henderson, and its governors, chaired by Des Barnett, is remarkable They are not just running a school, they are running a business. Andy is now being asked to pass on his schools to others around Wales while on a short-term attachment to the Assembly's Education Department….more here
